Rubina grew up in Shimla. Her father, Gopal Dilaik, is a writer who has written many books in Hindi. She has two sisters named Rohini and Naina. Rubina studied at Shimla Public School and later graduated from St. Bede’s College, Shimla, with a degree in English literature and political science.
As a young girl, Rubina was very active in debates and won many competitions. She also participated in beauty pageants. In 2006, she was crowned Miss Shimla and later won the Miss North India pageant in 2008.

Career Beginnings
Rubina wanted to become an IAS officer but her life took a different turn when she started acting. She made her television debut in 2008 with the show Chotti Bahu, playing the role of Radhika Shastri. This role made her famous and she reprised it in the sequel of the show.
After that, she acted in many TV shows like Saas Bina Sasural, Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed, and the mythological series Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev where she played Sita.
Rise to Fame
Rubina’s biggest success came with the show Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki where she played Soumya Singh, a transgender woman. This role was very challenging and earned her many awards, including Best Actress at the ITA Awards and Colors Golden Petal Awards in 2017. The show was very popular and ran for several years.
